About Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® (LVR®)

Many women who have had children seek a solution to restore vaginal tightness and enhance sexual satisfaction. For women without children, design modification techniques can also be customized to meet their individual goals and preferences.

When vaginal relaxation occurs, the muscles of the vaginal wall and perineum lose tone, strength, and control. This leads to an increase in both the internal and external vaginal diameters and a reduction in muscle support. As a result, the vagina may no longer be in its optimal physiological state, which can contribute to diminished sexual gratification.

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® (LVR®) effectively enhances vaginal muscle tone, strength, and control while reducing the internal and external diameters of the vagina. It also rebuilds and strengthens the perineal body, improving both function and sensation. Because sexual gratification is directly related to the frictional forces generated during intercourse, LVR® increases friction through precise vaginal and perineal tightening, leading to greater sexual satisfaction.

The LVR® technique uses gentle, precision-guided laser incisions that minimize bleeding and promote rapid healing and a quick return to daily activities.

The best candidates for this procedure are physically healthy women with realistic goals who wish to restore both form and function to the vaginal area.

What Happens During the Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation® Procedure?

Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (LVR®) is typically performed on an outpatient basis and may be done under several forms of anesthesia, depending on the patient’s needs and comfort. These may include local anesthesia with or without a pudendal block (a nerve block that numbs the entire vagina and vulva), IV sedation, twilight anesthesia, epidural, or general anesthesia.

The procedure generally lasts between one to three hours, depending on the degree of vaginal relaxation and the number of muscles or walls being treated.

To begin, a pudendal block and/or local anesthetic is administered to provide both intraoperative and post-operative pain control. A tumescent solution—a mixture of local anesthetics and adrenaline—is then injected into the anterior and posterior vaginal walls. This helps achieve a bloodless surgical field and allows for precision cutting using the proprietary LVR® laser technique.

The laser is used to perform all incisions and tissue dissection with exceptional control and accuracy. Sutures are placed to tighten the muscles of the upper/anterior (if needed), lower/posterior, and perineal regions according to the patient’s unique goals and anatomy.

Once the LVR® procedure is complete, a vaginal pack is gently inserted, and the patient is transferred to the recovery area for observation, typically lasting one to two hours. Most patients are then discharged home the same day in the care of a responsible adult.

Laser Posterior Colporrhaphy and Perineoplasty (LPP)

Laser Posterior Colporrhaphy and Perineoplasty (LPP) is a specialized form of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (LVR®) focused on tightening the internal and external vaginal tissues along the rectal (posterior) side of the vagina.

Because the posterior vaginal wall contributes to approximately 90% of overall vaginal tightness, this technique plays a key role in achieving optimal tone, strength, and enhanced sexual satisfaction.

Using advanced laser precision, LPP allows for controlled tissue tightening with minimal bleeding, rapid healing, and natural-looking results.

Laser Posterior Colporrhaphy and Perineoplasty with Improvement of Hemorrhoids (LPP-IH)

Laser Posterior Colporrhaphy and Perineoplasty with Improvement of Hemorrhoids (LPP-IH) follows the same advanced surgical process as Laser Posterior Colporrhaphy and Perineoplasty (LPP)—tightening the internal and external vaginal tissues on the rectal (posterior) side of the vagina.

In addition, this variation of the procedure includes laser treatment to improve the appearance and condition of hemorrhoids, enhancing both comfort and cosmetic results (as shown in the accompanying photos).

Laser Anterior & Posterior Colporrhaphy and Perineoplasty (LAPP)

Laser Anterior & Posterior Colporrhaphy and Perineoplasty (LAPP) is a comprehensive procedure that combines the benefits of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation (LVR®) with functional correction of urinary stress incontinence (USI or SUI).

Unlike traditional surgical methods, this advanced laser approach operates on the bladder and urethra without the use of vaginal mesh or tape. The procedure also includes vaginal tightening on the rectal (posterior) side, providing both functional improvement and enhanced sexual satisfaction.

LAPP is ideal for women who experience urinary leakage with physical activity—such as coughing, laughing, or exercising—while also seeking the restorative and aesthetic benefits of vaginal rejuvenation.

This advanced laser-assisted procedure can also improve the appearance of the labia majora (outer lips) and labia minora (inner lips), resulting in a more youthful, firm, and aesthetically balanced vulva.
